How to Manage Beech Leaf Disease & Spotted Lanternfly
Massachusetts is no stranger to devastating invasive pest and disease threats. Trees and shrubs in the state have been subjected to attack from Spongy Moth, Hemlock Woolly Adelgid, and many more. Now arborists can add Beech Leaf Disease and Spotted Lanternfly to the list of tree health concerns. Due to the novel way BLD is attacking our trees and the plague-like arrival of SLF populations, management can be a challenge. We will review the biology and life cycles of both invaders to fully understand recommended management strategies.
