Massachusetts Arborists Association (MAA) respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its website. To this end we have adopted the following privacy policy, which applies solely to information collected by this website.

Most information MAA collects is used to help our registrants navigate our website and optimize their time. It is our general policy to only collect and store personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. If our privacy policy changes, we will notify all users by email or through an announcement on the website listed above.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

From General Users
MAA does not collect any personally identifiable information from users browsing its website. Only aggregate data – such as the number of hits per page – are collected and used for internal and marketing purposes.

From MAA Members and Guest Registrants
In order to have full access to this website, a user must first complete the registration process. During this process a user is required to give certain information (such as name, address, phone number, email address). We will use your information to contact you with regard to the reason(s) you contacted us and/or about the services/programs on our site in which you expressed interest. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about MAA events or other opportunities to engage in the green industry. Additionally, for some emails sent in HTML format by MAA to its members and certified professionals through its listservs, we will collect more specific information regarding how the email is received. For example, we may monitor whether or not a recipient opens the email, clicks through links provided in the message, and/or responds to an email survey. MAA only uses this information to better serve its community by providing the most relevant information.

Disclosures to Third Parties

MAA does not share membership information in list form to third parties.  Members and non-member certified professionals (MCLPs) may opt out of listing in the searchable MAA Member Directory. 

Credit Card Information

MAA does not disclose or store credit card information provided by its members or guests. When users choose to pay using their credit cards, MAA submits the information to the appropriate clearinghouse.

Cancellation & REFUND Policy

MAA cannot provide refunds for cancellations received after the discount deadline for an event has passed. In the event that MAA cancels an event due to weather, refunds will be granted in the original form of payment.

Consent to Use of Images

Registration and attendance at MAA events constitutes an agreement by the registrant for use of registrant's image and/or voice in photo- graphs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of MAA events.

Green Commitment

In an effort to steward scarce resources, MAA has taken action to promote sustainability by:

  • Increasing waste recycling
  • Reducing paper consumption
  • Using recycled paper and low toxicity inks
  • Emphasizing electronic communication
  • Minimizing the use of disposable materials
