Trail Crew
Essential Functions: (The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. • Clearing fallen trees, brush and debris off trails
• Brush cutting trails, using power tools, loppers and other hand tools
• Maintaining/installing Conservation Area trailheads, parking areas and signage
• Constructing/re-decking bridges and bog bridging
Supervision Received:
Works under immediate supervision of Crew Supervisor. May receive guidance and direction from skilled or other laborers in the Department.
Supervision Given: None.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
• Outdoor, landscape and/or construction work experience in all types of weather
• Minimum 1 year experience with power tools, lawn mowers, string trimmers and chainsaws.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• First Aid/CPR Certified

Tools and Equipment Used:
Power tools, and other hand tools associated with landscaping and construction. Landscaping/construction machinery such as, but not limited to, lawn Mowers.

Work Environment:
Work is generally performed outdoors, requiring exposure to weather conditions with frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, noise level is loud. Works frequently near moving mechanical parts. Operates hand tools and equipment in the construction, repair and maintenance of municipal facilities, grounds, parks and trees. Operates computers, telephone, and occasionally other standard office equipment. Operates motorized vehicles and equipment, including pickup truck, utility truck, plate compactor, saws, pumps, sanders, generators, common hand and power tools, mobile or portable radio. There is work frequently near moving mechanical parts and experiences vibration.
