Tree & Shrub Diseases: What’s Ahead

Activity in the UMass Extension Plant Diagnostic Lab is a good barometer of issues in Massachusetts’ landscapes and forests that may impact the trees under our care. Nick Brazee will share what he’s been seeing in the lab, along with his predictions for what’s ahead. He’ll discuss recent fungal pathogens and environmental stresses that collectively contribute to the decline of trees and shrubs. Specific topics of discussion will include: white pine needle blight, beech canker, Tubakia blight, new fungicides available, and case studies of trees harboring internal decay.

Credits offered:

MCA (2.0 education), 1 ISA & 1 MA Pesticide (35, 36, CORE, Dealer).
