FROM TORNADO DEVASTATION TO RESILIENCY IN SPRINGFIELD, MA: CLIMATE CHANGE AT THE LOCAL LEVEL

This presentation will take a look at the impact of a devastating EF-tornado that traveled across Springfield in June 2011, and will showcase efforts to restore the urban tree canopy in the city. The re-greening of Springfield is a unique case study, providing insight into the development of strategies that address climate change at the local level. Learn how sound arboricultural and urban forestry practices can assist in making not only Springfield, but also the communities and properties under your care, more resilient.
